Field Trips

Where Nature Inspires Learning

Nestled on 67 pristine acres and surrounded by protected parkland, Camp Puh’tok provides students with a unique opportunity to explore the outdoors, disconnect from technology, and engage with the natural world through hands-on experiences in streams, forests, meadows, and wildlife habitats.

We offer three types of field trips—environmental education, team building, and Native American & Natural Resources—which can be scheduled individually or combined for a full-day, immersive experience that supports both academic and social-emotional learning.

Lessons

“The trip was educational as it reinforced the driving and essential questions, at every station but in a

different setting ( pond, stream, riparian forest, wetlands). The students learned about the temperature,

pH, turbidity, nitrates, and dissolved oxygen and how it pertains to the biodiversity of our ecosystem. The camp challenges the students on how they can implement and apply the knowledge learned at our own school. But more than that, it taught our students many things socially and about life. They had to work with different students, in different settings and get to know students not in their social circle. They

stepped out of their comfort zone. They learned respect and how to coexist and work together. I was extremely impressed by the camp staff and their compassion, organization and attention to detail. I was not sure what to expect on this trip but it exceeded any expectations I had. I enjoyed working with the camp staffers, teachers, chaperones and students. I feel blessed to have gone on this trip and have this experience with my daughter, teachers and school..”
